From humble beginnings in 1986 in a converted garage
Fit for purpose solutions through the expert application of appropriate technology, that’s how P&P define Engineering; because it’s not only important to do the thing right, you need to do the right thing!
Through the application of this philosophy we have been successful in attracting and retaining talented staff and clients appreciative of the benefits our approach brings.
The P&P team has been supporting clients’ success with bespoke solutions for in excess of 30 years. Our work has included national and international assignments in renewable and traditional energy, process, O&G production, transmission and storage, pulp and paper, as well as water and wastewater systems.
Steve Blackman
Managing Director
Steve is one of the founding directors of P&P. He completed his BE Mechanical at Canterbury University and enjoys staying involved with most engineering projects. In his spare time, Steve is an avid Aero modeller and rides his Triumph motorbike for fun.

Ian Webster
Ian is a director of P&P and holds NZCE in Civil Engineering. He boasts a lengthy career in the oil & gas industry and is an approved Worksafe Compliance Certifier, as well as a recognised bulk storage tank expert. Ian has spent many years coaching Taranaki Representative rugby at all age groups.

Business Development Manager
Rene is a Director and current board chair for P&P. He has been working within the energy industry for over 35 years and brings a range of skills to the business from corrosion engineering to management and business development. In his spare time Rene builds guitars and chases trout around various NZ streams and lakes.
Eric brings many skills to the P&P management team, having spent a number of years with Shell in the Netherlands as a refinery economist and engineer. Eric is tasked with overseeing the organisation systems and ensuring processes are efficient and effective across all disciplines including client interfaces.
