John Retires

This week we celebrated the retirement of our Principal I&E Engineer – John

John has been with P&P for an incredible 18 years and has had an illustrious career. Starting out as a trainee meat inspector straight out of school, John decided after 3 months this wasn’t the job for him. He then moved through a variety of roles before studying NZCE at Taranaki Polytech, where his maths tutor saw his abilities and suggested ‘why don’t you go to university?’ John completed his degree at Auckland University and graduated with First Class Honours, topping his class and receiving a financial reward. He put this money to good use and purchased a wheelbarrow – which he still has to this day!

John’s career has seen him work for Petralgas Chemicals (now Methanex WV plant) and Petrochem (now Ballance Kapuni) before moving onto his first consultancy role. Luckily for P&P this is where John found his happy place and he has enjoyed the consultancy environment ever since with its varied tasks and challenges.

John, we wish you all the very best. Enjoy the coffee machine and time with your family.
